Up for sale is this 1934 SHIRLEY TEMPLE 8x10 Color Litho "Photo" with "Autograph" and most importantly
UNIQUE & Rare A
dvertising on back featuring a FREE PRE-RELEASE Showing of "Bright Eyes" + Short Films on Christmas Day 1934!!! Film wasn't officially released until Dec 28. Advertising on BACK of photo says:
Majestic (Theatre) ~ Beloit's (Wis) Home of Big Picture's ~ Wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ~ Our Christmas Present to Beloit is -- Shirley Temple in "Bright Eyes" ~ This is her Latest and Finest Picture ~ Short Subjects ~ Walt Disney's--Santa's Night Before Xmas ~ Our Gang Comedy   Washie Ironee ~ Man's Mania For Speed ~ Be Sure and See This Beautiful Program Chirstmas Day.
Considering this is from the DEPRESSION, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the only one still in existence. I assume the theatre was able to get around the Offical Dec 28, 1934 release date by showing it for free, ie "Christmas Present to Beloit". Paper measures 8" wide by 10" high.
This would make an outstanding addition to your collection OR would make a wonderful gift!!!
It is RARE because I can't find another advertisement for a PRE-Release showing of "Bright Eyes" on the internet!!!
