Description
Here's a very nice CONKLIN #20 chased black hard rubber pen from about 1920. This pen has excellent chasing and good color on the rubber with little or no toning. Barrel imprints are as bold with CONKLIN CRESCENT FILLER, TOLEDO and patent information to the left of the Crescent and on the right TRADE MARK 20 and the image of a hand holding the pen and depressing the Crescent between Trade and Mark. The filler is marker CONKLIN and CRESCENT on opposite sides with REG. U.S. PAT.OFF. The clip is marked CONKLIN in script with clip patent info included. The pen is 5-5/16" long rounded at the top of the cap and only slightly rounded on the bottom of the barrel. The locking ring for the crescent filler is tight and moves smoothly. The crescent operates smoothly, and the pen readily takes up fluid. Section and feed are excellent. Nib is a CONKLIN, 2, TOLEDO, H. It appears to have lost its iridium tips, but it also looks like it may have been ground and used to a degree as a broad stub configuration. It could likely use more work or even a nib replacement as while it's relatively smooth, when flexed, it is scratchy. Tips are straight and quite flexible.Prior to bidding, please read below the information on payment, return policy and information on international shipping.
