Description
Here's a very nice CONKLIN #20 chased black hard rubber pen from about 1920. This pen has excellent chasing on the cap, with more wear on the barrel. Both have good color on the rubber with little or no toning. Barrel imprints are weak, but still mostly legible with CONKLIN CRESCENT FILLER, TOLEDO and patent information to the left of the Crescent and on the right, only TRADE MARK 20 is visible. The gold filled Crescent is marked "CRESCENT FILLER" on one side only and may have some brassing on the ring. The crescent has restricted outward movement, due to the sac remnants inside, but it retracts fully allowing unrestricted movement of the locking ring. The clip is marked CONKLIN in script with clip patent info included. The pen is 5-5/16" long , and flat at the top of the cap and only slightly rounded on the bottom of the barrel. The sac has hardened and broken internally and it will need replaced before to pen will take up ink. Section and feed are excellent. Nib is a CONKLIN, 3, TOLEDO. The tines appear a little wavy away from the tip, but they both have iridium and are aligned at the tips. It is possible they have been straightened at some point. Tips are straight and quite flexible.Prior to bidding, please read below the information on payment, return policy and information on international shipping.
