    Description

The Conklin Mark Twain Crescent Filler Superblack fountain pen collection features a new technology creating the darkest super black coating on the pen's opaque body. The end result is a dramatic example of historic beauty and innovation only on Conklin Pens.
The Conklin Mark Twain Crescent Filler Superblack fountain pens are made of solid brass with the surface undergoing a new technique to create the "superblack" coating and achieve an almost 100% matte black appearance. The unique and stunning superblack finish absorbs over 99% of visible light at normal incidence which is what makes it darker than any other known substance.
Each Conklin Mark Twain Crescent Filler Superblack fountain pen is fitted with a premium stainless steel JoWo nib in varying nib sizes.
When Conklin's founder, Roy Conklin, patented the design for the first self-filling fountain pen in 1901, the company introduced the Crescent Filler™. This filling method utilizes a crescent moon-shaped metal piece extending from the side of the pen. Writing enthusiasts can easily (using only one hand if preferred) self-fill the fountain pen with bottled fountain pen ink.
To fill, simply depress the crescent piece to engage the internal pressure bar and collapse the built-in rubber sac. When the crescent is released, the sac is filled with ink. In 1902, legendary American author Mark Twain expressed the virtues of this particular self-filling fountain pen resulting in the pen collection's name.
The Conklin Mark Twain Crescent Filler Superblack Limited Edition fountain pen is limited to 1898* pieces and comes packaged in a blue Conklin gift box with a custom graphic sleeve.
*The Superblack with Chrome trim is limited to 898 pieces.
