Description
Here's a very nice Conklin #40 Crescent filling fountain pen from about 1920. Straight off I'll say that I mentioned toning and wear on the barrel side, but my pictures exaggerate the extent of this aging. It is far less prominent that photo 5 & 6 depict. That said, this 5-1/2" Conklin is in excellent condition. Chasing and toning is generally all good (only slightly less so on the barrel) The two gold filled parts (crescent and clip) are in excellent condition. The clip is marked CONKLIN with patent info. The Crescent is marked on one side only CRESCENT-FILLER, TRADEMARK. Two groups of imprints on the barrel, before and after the filler. At the end, the imprint is TRADE MARK 40 with a hand between (worn some). Just below the cap is marked CONKLIN CRESCENT-FILLER, TOLEDO OHIO, and patent info. The pen remarkably still takes of lots of ink. I think the sac is a little sluggish, but still readily responds. The 14K nib is marked CONKLIN, 4, TOLEDO. I think the nib is a extra fine. It is in perfect condition and has significant flexibility.Prior to bidding, please read below the information on payment, return policy and on international shipping. Refunds on approved returns
