Dane Fletcher is a former NFL linebacker, most recently playing for the New England Patriots. He was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He played college football at Montana State. Fletcher has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fletcher starred for the Montana State Bobcats where he was the 2009 Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year after finishing the season with 67 total tackles, seven sacks and two blocked kicks. After redshirting as a freshman in 2005, he played primarily on special teams as a freshman before topping the Big Sky Conference with 19 tackles for a loss in 2007 with 51 tackles and three sacks. In 2008, Fletcher had 6.5 sacks despite missing three games. Fletcher finished his college career with 162 tackles, 51 Tackles for a Loss and 16.5 sacks.
At 6’1” 245lbs, Fletcher had a spectacular workout at his pro day running the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds, doing the short shuttle in 4.35 seconds, and had a 6.93 time in the three-cone drill. His explosion was further illustrated with a 36-inch vertical leap to go along with a 9’3” broad jump. In such a compact frame, Fletcher also showcased above average strength benching 29 reps at 225lbs. on the bench press.
After going undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft, Fletcher signed with the New England Patriots. Fletcher became one of two undrafted rookies to make the Patriots' opening day roster, although he was inactive for the first three games of the 2010 season. In Week 4, Fletcher made his NFL debut against the Miami Dolphins. In Week 6, Fletcher saw his first considerable action on defense as a reserve against the Baltimore Ravens. The next week against the San Diego Chargers, Fletcher forced his first career fumble. In Week 15, Fletcher's late-fourth quarter sack of Green Bay Packers quarterback Matt Flynn, the first of Fletcher's career, helped thwart a Packers drive and preserve a Patriots win.
The featured size 11 white and blue Nike Cleats were game worn by Dane Fletcher when the New England Patriots faced the Green Bay Packers on December 19th, 2010. Patriots offensive lineman Dan Connolly rumbled 71 yards in what is believed to be the longest kickoff return by an offensive lineman and Tom Brady threw two touchdown passes in the Patriots wild 31-27 win. Fletcher added 2 tackles and his 1st Career NFL Sack of Packers quarterback Matt Flynn on the final drive, which led to the win. The sack resulted in an eight-yard loss. The former Patriots linebacker has signed the Cleats and added “N.E vs. Green Bay” in black. The cleats show good use and were obtained directly from Dane Fletcher!!! Awesome!!!
