    Deontae Skinner is a free agent linebacker most recently playing for the Tennessee Titans. He also played college football at Mississippi State and attended Noxubee County High School in Macon, Mississippi. He has played for the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants.
    Skinner played high school football at Noxubee County High School. He was named First-Team All-State for his accomplishments during his senior year, recording 134 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 11 of which were sacks, and two forced fumbles. Skinner recorded 122 tackles and five sacks his junior year. Skinner was ranked as the No. 28 strong linebacker prospect in the country by national recruiting website Scout.com.
    Skinner played football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs from 2010 to 2013. He was redshirted for the 2009 season. In 2010, he played in 10 games and totaled seven tackles on the season seeing time as a reserve linebacker and on kick-coverage units. He was credited with a pair of stops against Houston and posted one solo stop against Michigan in the New Year’s Day Gator Bowl victory.
    In 2011, Skinner played in all 12 regular season games and the Music City Bowl, earning starts in the last 11 contests. He racked up 69 tackles, ranking fifth on the team and tallied 9.0 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles as well. He totaled his 2010 season total with seven tackles in the season-opening win at Memphis, including 1.0 tackles for loss. He was also credited for four tackles in his first career start vs. No. 3 LSU at home. Skinner notched a career-high 10 tackles at Georgia, including one for loss. Recorded his first career forced fumble to go along with six tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss at No. 6 Arkansas. The talented linebacker closed out the regular season with nine tackles, another forced fumble and a tackle for loss in the Egg Bowl triumph vs. rival Ole Miss. Skinner also recorded a career-high 2.0 tackles for loss in a Music City Bowl win vs. Wake Forest.
    Skinner started all 13 games during his junior campaign and was the team’s fifth-leading tackler with 62 total stops and five tackles for loss. He also filled the stat sheet with three pass breakups and a pair of quarterback hurries. Skinner posted eight total tackles with seven solos in the win over Troy and also recorded eight tackles against Texas A&M. Skinner added one and a half tackles for loss in the win over Auburn and racked up a career-high-tying two tackles for loss in the victory over Arkansas. In 2013, Skinner played in 11 games for the Bulldogs and collected 64 tackles including 4.5 tackles for a loss. He also added an interception for 7 yards and 2 pass deflections.
    The talented linebacker was signed by the New England Patriots on May 12, 2014 after going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was released by the Patriots on August 26, 2014. He was signed to the team's practice squad on September 1, 2014. Skinner was promoted to the active roster on September 13, 2014 and was part of the team that won Super Bowl XLIX over the Seattle Seahawks. He made his NFL debut on September 14, 2014 against the Minnesota Vikings, recording two tackles. He played in 7 games with 1 start and registered 16 tackles including 1 sack as a member of the Patriots.
    On September 13th, 2016, Skinner was signed to the New York Giants' practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster on October 11, 2016. In 2016 and 2017 Skinner bounced around between the Giants practice squad and active roster playing in 7 total regular season games with the Giants. Skinner was placed on injured reserve on November 27th, 2017. On August 21st, 2018, Skinner was signed by the Tennessee Titans.
