    Dream-Theater is known for combining honors between advanced rock from the Seventies (Rush, Genesis, Marillio, King Crimson) and melodic metal (Queensryche, Fates Warning to Metallica), a combination that led to the sale of over 2.1 million albums in the US, and over 10 Million Around the World On November 16, 2010, the band won the Nobel Prize in the music industry when it officially entered the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
    Founded in 1985 by John Petrucci (guitar), John Myung (bass) and Mike Portnoy (drums) in Boston, the band started out as a cabaret band for Iron Maiden and Head, joined by Chris Collins (soloist) and Kevin Moore (Keyboards) They began to create original materials, appeared in Greater New York and released an IP that today became a collectors item.
    Two years later Collins retired and Arly Dominici became the throat of the band, which has already changed its name to an old movie theater called "When Dream and Day Unite" in California. Soon after, they recorded their first album. In 1989, however, the breakthrough came only in 1992, after they were able to find the vocalist who would meet their standards.
    From 1994 until today, nine more albums have been released.
