Antique c1850's Gorham Aesthetically styled urn form coin silver shaker. Could be for salt, pepper, powder or whatever. Measures 4 3/4" height and weighs 85.8 grams. Very nice condition with no dings or dents. Clean inside and out with no signs of use. Being as old as this is, it's probably hand made. There may have been a repair to base as I'm seeing some old solder marks or it could just be that was the way it was made. Either way everything is tight and secure and the shaker stands straight with no wobble. One side of the shaker shows a cartouche framed all but faded lightly engraved AGR monogram. The base is stamped 60 coin silver 21 along with a Gorham maker's mark used between 1855-1860. Collectible silver. Please enlarge all pics for best details. Starts low with no reserve.
