    Description

Clement Murdaugh was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1907.
A motorcycle mechanic, he competed as a rider in hill climb races from the 1930’s to the 1940’s.
He was national champion in 1948.
Mr. Murdaugh was a friend of Jacques Dupont, son of E. Paul Dupont who was president of Indian Motorcycle Company from 1930-1945.
Mr Murdaugh raced with Mr Dupont’s son Jacques Dupont.
His association with the Dupont family continued with Alexis Dupont, also a son of E. Paul Dupont.
This sweater was given to Alexis Dupont at some time in the 1970’s by Clement Murdaugh as described by Mr. Dupont’s sons Thomas and Everitt in January 2019.
The sweater is in fair condition with tears and holes, but is in fine shape for display.  Indian sweaters are very rare, and ones attributed to racers are extremely rare.  Free shipping in US.
