Description
For sale is a 1970's vintage Gunther Seifert German built 36 Inch Ketch rigged model sailboat. The later 80's models had smaller cabins with 4 Port holes and called Passet This being an earlier model with 20 inch cabin & 5 port holes per side. & did not come named . I do believe these were not made for 15 year olds. The Seifert Logo is a decal on the deck as shown in listing pictures. It is 36 Inches long 8 inches wide & 45 inches keel to tip of mast. It still has original sails with Gull on it. It has a plywood deck & a Composite hull with weighted keel for sailing stability. The cabin I believe is Cedar????. It can be sailed in most waters be that Pond, Lake, or Ocean if you have the gut & ability to chase & retrieve it with your own motor launch. It can be line sailed & will pull more than 200 yards of mono filament line with installed bow eye & swivel. I have personally sailed this boat both line & free sail on the GREAT SOUTH BAY off the south shore of Sayville, Long Island NY .It has a large controllable rudder. I have installed a plastic rubberized bumper on bow for the man made ponds with concrete outer walls, because if it get going & you cannot reach it in time before it hits wall it will not destroy the bow I believe. There are 4 shrouds on the main mast & 2 shrouds on the Mizen mast. These boat are no longer made by Seifert Gunther Co, so are quite RARE. It would also make a great display at your shore home if that be your desire. I suggest keep pictures from listing as how to rig said boat. Needles to say shipping is quite costlyFor sale is a approx 1970's German built Gunther Seifert 36 inch Ketch rigged boat.
